The first Mahajan Shield goes to North London. Collected by Neil Morjaria just before the community photographs at the close of the day. Every check-in earned a point, so turning up counted for as much as winning. See the day in pictures.

The real Shield was not ready in time, so a shield from another competition stood in on the day while the Mahajan Shield is made.

LOHANA SPORTS FESTIVAL 2025

2025 results

The LCUK Sports Festival 2025 organising team outside Hertfordshire Sports Village
The 2025 organising team — the volunteers who made the day happen.

A genuinely intergenerational festival: competitors ranged from 9 to 85 years old, with over 250 entries across eight sports — seven of them contested for trophies, with indoor cricket played for fun. That is remarkable growth from the modest two-sport revival in 2022, and it is exactly what the festival is for — strengthening bonds between Mahajans, inspiring the next generation, and promoting wellbeing through sport.

Final reflections

The Sports Festival has become a cornerstone of the UK Lohana calendar — showcasing not just athletic ability, but the values that hold this community together: togetherness, encouragement, intergenerational bonding, and fun.

From 9 to 85, beginners to seasoned players, competitors to cheerleaders — this festival was for everyone. We look forward to even more of you joining us in 2026 as we keep building a healthier, stronger and more connected Lohana community.

Congratulations to every competitor

Winning matters less than turning up. Thank you to everyone who played, to the families who came to watch, and above all to the volunteers and officials who gave up their weekend to run the day.
