Ek Maidan, the festival song

Ek Maidan (Go Raghu Go) is the Lohana Sports Festival song written for 2026: one field, sixteen Mahajans, and Raghu cheering every one of them.

The story behind the Lohana Sports Festival song

One field, one family. The Lohana Sports Festival song carries the roll call of the Mahajans, the queue at the chai urn and the loudest uncles in the lounge, with Raghu the lion at the front of it all. It is built to be sung back rather than just listened to, a chorus the whole hall can carry between matches.

A festival this size needs more than fixtures and results. The Lohana Sports Festival song gives the weekend a sound: something the children learn quickly, the grandparents recognise, and everyone can join in without being told how. That shared chorus is part of what turns sixteen separate Mahajans into one crowd for three days.

Raghu, and one field for sixteen Mahajans

Raghu is the festival mascot, and Go Raghu Go is the line the crowd returns. The song takes that chant and wraps the weekend around it: the early starts, the nerves on the start line, the families on the touchline and the shared meal at the end. It played across Festival Day at Hertfordshire Sports Village, and it belongs to all sixteen Mahajans equally.

Listen to and share the Lohana Sports Festival song

You can play the full Lohana Sports Festival song, download it and read the words on the festival song page. Teach the chorus to the children before next September, and bring it with you to the next festival.

If your Mahajan would like to use the song at an event, it is free for the whole community to play and share. The words and the backing are on the festival song page, and we would love to hear the whole hall sing it back at next September festival.
